Mid Fall Newsletter ~ 2010 |
Notes from Carole
This Sunday, October 24th, I am giving a FREE 2 ½ hour workshop on the importance of personal boundaries.
If you get this newsletter in time, come at 2 pm to Crazy Wisdom
Bookstore, 114 S. Main, Ann Arbor and participate in the workshop.
I
have had a really good summer, pleasant fall, and a plethora of
tomatoes. I am leaving to attend a conference in Atlanta for Imago
therapists. Imago therapists come from all over the world, mostly, of
course, from primarily the United States and Canada. I will, also, be
able to visit some friends while in Atlanta. I will be back in the
office Monday, November 1.
Enjoy the rest of the Fall Season! |
What's the Purpose of Your Relationship?
Below
is a refreshingly wise remark on marriage, especially coming from a
'Hollywood star.' Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are the type of
people who can bring about equal amounts of awe and disbelief as they
maintain their careers and their marriage while raising kids all in the
same spotlight. Part of the answer to their success is their
marriage-business plan. Will explained to Oprah Winfrey on Monday's
show.
"If you don't have a
goal, if you don't have a purpose for your relationship, you can get
lost in the murk of the journey," the actor said. "There has to be a
vision. Why are we together?" An answer for why two spirits would join
and travel this perilous journey of life together. "You're fine, you can
cook, you can keep the house together - that's not enough. There's so
much more you have to be dedicated to."
Couples who attend the Discover a New Way to Love
couples weekend get a good start on creating a relationship vision.
Having goals, a vision, for your relationship is extremely helpful. How
can you move along in your relationship without a road map, a direction?
Everything you do and say creates the environment of your relationship.
If you have a vision, you can evaluate everything you say and don't
say, as well as, everything you do and don't do by asking yourself this
question, "Is what I am about to say or do or is what I am doing or
saying creating goodwill and helping us realize our relationship goals,
our vision or am I dumping toxic stuff into our relationship space
making it extremely difficult to realize our vision?"

Embracing Your Inner Family, Voice Dialogue, Psychology of the Aware Ego
Sunday, Nov. 21 2- 4:30 pm Crazy Wisdom Bookstore, 114 S. Main, Ann Arbor
We
think of ourselves as being one self, one unitary being. We identify
with certain ways of being in the world, primarily the ways of being
that we developed to protect us in childhood. Voice Dialogue is
a way of discovering and working with a myriad of autonomous selves
operating within us. Come discover your primary and disowned selves and
begin to understand the importance of developing a consciousness and
ability to have choice about your ways of being and functioning in the
world.

Understanding & Working with Gender Difference in Life & Love
Sunday, Dec. 12 2 - 4:30 pm Crazy Wisdom Bookstore, 114 S. Main, Ann Arbor
The
differences in how men and women think, feel, and act can be perplexing
and often cause us to misperceive what is meant by a comment, behavior,
or lack of response. Now more than ever, we are better able to
understand these differences due to the amazing developments in
neuroscience. We now know that the male and female brains are mostly
alike, but have some profound differences. Come learn about these gender
differences, so we can make peace with each other's brains and with
each other. |
